TINE KATINKA JENSEN
Director
Tine Katinka Jensen’s film “Solange on Love” became Bullitt Films first documentary release and was launched in the autumn 2008 and awarded The DANISH:DOX AWARD 2008. It is a poetic character driven love dox from Chile, and was Tine’s first film after graduating from The Danish Film School. Tine graduated from the school’s television department in 2005 with her documentary “Angie” about a headstrong female rapper from the suburbs of Aarhus. The film was awarded “Golden Dok of the Year! Before going to the documentary line at “The Danish Film School”, Tine worked with children’s TV. In 2000 her eight-part series “Wonder kids” was broadcast on TV2, and her documentary for children about Malaysia brought her the 1st prize at Nordic Children’s TV Festival in 2001 Tine is now working on the film “Wild Girls” about a group of young violent girls.
Joanna Rubin Dranger
Director
Joanna Rubin Dranger refers to herself as a “graphic storyteller” because she works with both words and illustrations. She made her debut as a director of “Miss Remarkable and Her Career” which is an extraordinary graphic animation based on the graphic novel of the same name, also drawn and written by Joanna. The film has so far received four different prizes and a lot of fantastic reviews and is made as a coproduction between Lisbet Gabrielsson Film, A Man and Ink and Bullitt Film Joanna has received plenty of prestigious prizes for both her novels and her work as an illustrator. Her latest book is another graphic novel: “Always ready to die for my child” (Alltid redo att dö för mitt barn). Joanna has a big reader fan club in countries like Sweden, the US, Finland and Japan. Besides producing books and movies Joanna teaches “graphic storytelling” at the “School of Fine Arts” in Stockholm. Here she is titled “Professor in illustration”. Åsa Mossberg
Film editor
Åsa Mossberg is a film editor, a car collector and a natural knitting talent. Åsa graduated from the Danish Film School in 1997, and has become one of Denmark´s most trusted and innovative contributors to film making. For Bullitt Åsa has edited “Nobody Passes Perfectly” directed by Saskia Bisp Some of Åsa’s recent works include….Nye?? !Svinlängerne” She was a Co-editor on “Anticrist”, editing Pernille Fischer Christensens ”A Soap”, that won the Silver Bear in Berlin in 2006 and a Robert for best editing in 2006. and Nanna Frank Møllers intriguing ”Someone Like You”….. Ditte Haarløv Johnsen
Director
Ditte grew up in Maputo, Mozambique, and moved to Denmark as a teenager. The theme of alienation, longing and vulnerability is strong in her documentary films, all of them highly intense and intimate with their characters. Her graduation film from the Danish Film School, ”One Day” from 2007, is a remarkable portrait of a Nigerian prostitute and her life in downtown Copenhagen, while trying to keep up the contact with the teenage daughter at home i Nigeria. The film has won several awards in Denmark and abroad. Ditte works with still photography alongside of her filmic body of work, and has exhibited her photographic work internationally. During the winter of 2011 she is finalizing her ”Maputo Diary”-project, initiated some ten years ago. Ditte´s production ”Shapes of Hope” is a three-chapter film about imigration, filmed in Mauretania, Italy and Denmark with a planned release in the autumn of 2012. Katrine Philp
Director
With her background as a designer, Katrine Philp felt the urge to take those visual skills with her and start working with film. She graduated from the National Danish Film School´s documentary department in 2009 with the film, ”Book of Miri”. ”Book of Miri” was awarded Winner of ‘Full Frame President’s Award’ at Full Frame Documentary Film Festival, USA and Winner of ‘European Young CIVIS Media Prize’, Germany that same year. At Bullitt, Katrine has developed three different documentary projects with a strong social dimension. “Suitable”, currently in preproduction, is a series about a group of refugees who are being selected by the Danish authorities to become Danish citizens and start a new life in Denmark. Another film in development examines the psychiatric system in Denmark while looking at the fine line between what´s normal and not. Since her graduation, Katrine has contributed to Dox:Lab where she collaborated with a Burmesian filmmaker on a film entitled “Five Beats Before Death”.
Charles Atlas
Director
New York-based video artist and film maker Charles Atlas is known for his long-term collaboration with choreographer Merce Cunningham. Together the two have explored the space and opportunities that film and video can give movement and dance in a thrilling body of work that constitutes groundbreaking ways into the synthesis of dance and film.. Charles Atlas has continued his passion for collaborating with amazing performers and his other films include work with Michael Clark, Douglas Dunn, Leigh Bowery, Marina Abramovic and Antony. In his site specific work Charles has a strong focus on the force of ”live”. He has made several installations and has exhibited work at the New Museum, New York and Tate Gallery in London and many other places worldwide. Charles has collaborated with Vibeke on several productions, among them the scandalous ”Super Honey”, the moving ”The Legend of leigh Bowery” and now ”Turning” a film with Antony and the Johnsons.
Saskia Bisp
Director
Saskia Bisp graduated from the documentary department at the Danish Film School with the experimental and provoking film “Anger”. Since then Saskia has lived and worked professionally with film and TV internationally, and not least in New York, El Salvador and Cairo. With Bullitt Film Saskia made her latest film “Nobody Passes Perfectly”. A subtle and thought evoking film about gender and the courage to be oneself, that won the Audience Award at the Copenhagen International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival 2009. Saskia has been travelling, discussing the film at festivals all over the world, and with her profound interest in gender, identity and society, she is one of the communicators at Bullitt Films “Face 2 Face”. In development now is a film about gender inside the family structure along with a children´s trans-media project about a talented and charming pig.
Johan Melin
Director
Johan Melin is a Swedish director and scriptwriter who has cooperated with Bullitt Film since its beginning. In 2005 he graduated from the Danish Film School with the harsh and distinct film ”SteppeUlve”, dealing with the theme of loneliness that is recurrent in his work. Johan is known for a very collaborative workstyle when it comes to cast, crew and methods. He works with The Good Army, a group of actors and artists who believe in a collaborative creative work method. With Bullitt Johan has produced the innovative feature film ”Profetia”. ”Preludium”, the acclaimed pilot for “Profetia” was shot in one continuous take and lasts almost two hours. Johan also directs for the stage.
Oliver Ussing
Director
Oliver Ussing is a director and scriptwriter and has written and directed the feature film “My Good Enemy” based on the novel “Nørdernes Forvandling” by Thorstein Thomsen, that Bullitt produced and launched in 2010. A dark and edgy film about power struggles within a group of young boys. My Good Enemy was awarded the CIFEJ Jury Award and a Special Mention at Lucas International Children’s Film Festival 2010 and the Indie Junior Award at Indie Lisboa 2011. Oliver had his feature film debut in 2003 with “Rule nr. 1” that was nominated three Robert awards and selected for the official selection at Chicago International FF, Rio de Janeiro and Mannheim-Heidelberg. Oliver has also directed a series of short fiction films, among them “Heads We Go”, “Ind fra højre”, “Noget Blåt og Noget Lånt” and “Den sidste dag Cathrine og Leo var sammen”. Oliver graduated from Film Studies at Copenhagen University in 1997, and as a photographer at Maidstone School of Visual Arts in Kent, England in 1993.
