Face 2 face
Communicating face to face
There is something to talk about! One thing is making a film, another thing is communicating face to face.
Film makers make strong commitments and go deeply into their subject matter together with the people in front of the camera. That process leads to a very special insight that we think is meaningful to share live, in exchange with an audience.
Here are a few examples:
Saskia Bisp has made a film about transgender issues and the right to chose gender beyond any biological identification. But what does it mean in a relationship when one is in transition from woman to man? And where is the sex? In the head, in the tone of the voice or between the legs?
Tine Katinka Jensen has an issue with strong women and has become reknown for her way of portraying them in their full scale – in a social, often heavy context, and in themselves and their struggle for love and joy. She is now in production with a series about marginalized young women. Where does the need to see them so one-dimensionally as the press often does, come from? Which are the paths to a new and better life for young women who stretch between tow worlds that only meet in themselves?
Katrine Philp is developing a film about Denmarks way of handling refugees. What does it mean and imply to be a “good Dane”? How can these people who we let in meet and understand the Danish culture and how does the Danish culture come out and express itself to them?
